Greetings, kids.
I first discovered Rancid when their self-titled release came out.
My favourite song was "Rejected" because it was fast, angry punk rock.
The best kind of punk rock.
Since the self title album, it seems Rancid has slowed things down a bit.
Here's a video I discoverd over at http://www.rancidrancid.com/
It reminds me of everything I loved about Rancid.

What's up with the Weakerthans?
On this Sunday's Mixtape show, we talked about how the Weakerthans are playing 4 shows in their home city of Winnipeg in December. Each show features the band performing one of their albums in its entirety...
Dec 15 - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Fallow - 8PM - The Royal Albert Arms
Dec 16 - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Left & Leaving - 8PM - West End Cultural Centre
Dec 17 - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Reconstruction Site - 8PM - The Pyramid Cabaret
Dec 18 - Winnipeg, Manitoba - Reunion Tour - 8PM - The Burton Cummings
I'll leave you with this video of John K. Samson at the Steven Page Songwriter's Panel. He performs a fantastic, "chilling" version of "One Great City!" from Reconstruction Site.

Punk Rock Does Have A Future
All good things must end. Several of my favourite bands have called it quits.
I'm talking about Good Riddance, Satanic Surfers, The Almighty Trigger Happy and many more.
Fear not. Below are links to bands that absolutely keep fast punk rock alive.
Do yourself a favour and check them out...
This Is A Standoff
(featuring ex-members of Belvedere, Forty Cent Fix, The Johnsons)

A Wilhelm Scream

Enemy Alliance
(featuring Rodrigo from Satanic Surfers)

So, although I'm upset I won't get a chance to feel that moment of anticipation just before the drums in Good Riddance's power assault "Fertile Fields" begin, I take comfort knowing there are people out there still creating the music I live for.

Let's Talk With Jordan Burns
Here's an interview I did with the drummer from Strung Out, Jordan Burns.
Not only is Jordan Burns one of the most technically adept drummers in punk rock today, he's also a super rad dude.
A big thank you goes out to Jordan for taking the time to speak with me - he was in the middle of a recording session for Strung Out's latest full length album, "Agents Of The Underground", out now on Fat Wreck Chords.

Let's Talk With Mr. Chi Pig
I sat down with Mr. Chi Pig from legendary punk band SNFU and drank beer. Enjoy.
Check out what's new with SNFU.

Let's Talk Punk Rock
"There's no point, in a job, the pay just sucks, if you're a slob. I'm not lying, I'm lazy, and all my friends are just like me...hey dude, can you relate?"
-Lagwagon "Lagwagon" (DUH)
This is my first post.
I work in the radio industry as a creative writer and on air host.
My show is called "Mixtape" and airs every Sunday night at 9pm PST.
Mixtape features punk and indie bands from all over the world.
I wanted to use "Let's Talk Punk Rock", as a form to talk about all things punk rock.
Reviews, interviews, musings, and reflections from a punker who primarily grew up on the melodic skate rock of the 1990s.
Drop by and see what's up down the road.
